How to make a diamond (2015)
I created diamonds from the dead creatures of the River Thames. I collected organisms from the banks of the river – bits of hair, skin, fur and wood. Under high pressure and temperature, with help from chemists and geologists at UCL, I transformed this organic debris into tiny diamonds.
My booklet ‘How to make a diamond’ (Walbrook press, 2015) details the process and history of diamond making and was funded by The Leverhulme Trust.
